Is Absithe legal in Mexico? |
Travel Info If so im headin to the boarder for some weekend Travel Tips I hate to use wikipedia as a source but here is what it says on the subject. "It is once again legal to produce and sell absinthe in practically every country where alcohol is legal, the major exception being the United States. It is not, however, illegal to possess or consume absinthe in the United States. Despite the ban, it is obtainable in a small number of establishments around the United States, though typically locating those establishments is achieved via word of mouth." From what I read I think the answer is a yes. Source(s): http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/absinthe... Other Travel Tips nope A product called Absinth from the Czech Republic is widely sold in Mexican liquor stores...expensive, 25USD for a small bottle. Not the real article, no wormwood. Can't bring it back across the Border. Yes it is i live in Mexico. It is sold in some liquor stores or nightclubs but its not that easy to find because it is not very popular. Ive tried it and theres nothing special about it, you will just get wasted really easy drinking that. Yes, we have Absynthe down here. But Absynthe no longer has wormwood in it like it did when Edgar Allen Poe and others drank it. So the buzz isn't the same. Hey i have bought some absinth here in mexico the bottle costs about 40 Dls or more thats the cheap one look for it in La Divina stores, that's wine and licor stores and the have it here in Guanajuato you can buy it without any trouble |
