Has anyone ever stayed at the Grand Bahia Principe Talum in Riviera Maya? |
Travel Info The Grand Bahia Principe Talum in Riviera Maya (south of Cancun in Mexico) - has anyone ever stayed there? Our trip will be lasting one week, and we are arriving on a Thursday. What do you recommend bringing? What should we request, etc. Any "words to the wise" for me? Thank you. Travel Tips First off, you are going to have a great time. The reviews on tripadvisor are rating this resort #7 on popularity. The food is good and the beach is beautiful but bring some beach shoes, there are some rocks in the water. Be aware of the time share folks at the airport. They will reel you in and you will waste 3/4 hours with them. Just keep walking past them at the airport and say "no thank you." Also be aware of the price of phone calls from your room to home. You are very close to the Mayan Ruins so be sure to make time to visit them. Have a great trip and have fun. It is the best site for travel reviews. i didnt stay there, but close, i was in puerto aventuras, at the camilleon marival. if your place is an all inclusive, dont worry about food/drinks, they are handled. bring swimwear, suntan, oh yeah swimming shoes. etc etc etc. bring cash, make sure you barter with the people when you buy something especially in the small villages like playa del carmen, barter them down good. but some of the stores in your hotel complex dont barter so look above the cash register for a sign that says all says are as is or something like that. and dont give to the peddlers because if you do then they will tell everyone you will give a handout. take the hotel tour when you get in and they will give you ideas of all of the sites, and attractions in the area. most of all just enjoy. You'll love it, it's a great chain, I've never been disappointed with any of their resorts.... Remember your travel insurance =) |
