Please post your Mexico Resort horror story? |
Travel Info I have started a site called http://www.resortsofdeath.com and was wondering if anyone could post their own personal stories in the forums about any incidents that have happened to you or someone you know. I am trying to bring to light the hidden dangers of resorts in Mexico to tourists. People who post on the site will get points! Thanks, Brad Travel Tips Paranoid!!! Viva Mexico Cabrones!!! Others Thanks for the link, will have to check it out... my horror story, whether it's horror to anybody else or not, was when I stayed at the Westin Resort & Spa in Cabos... I ate at one of the restaurants and for a fish buffet they charged us $60.00 US each although my wife only ate 3 shrimp (as she was not impressed by the selection)... I was HORRIFIED and angered when the waiter still charged me when I had insisted that my wife didn't eat, he didn't get a tip that night... so my advice, if you don't like to pay big bucks for a dinner in Mexico, don't eat at the hotel restaurants... In response to Ram. You're right Ram, don't eat at the hotel restaurants becausethey're managed by American Companies therefore the food will not be as tasty as the taqueria down the road. Now, in response to Brad, I was also horrified by the houndreds of thousands of American and European tourists who visit that country every year. Sunny days, beautiful sandy beaches, good food, snorkeling, sailing, fishing, hunting, diving, swiming, historical sites, culture, good music, etc should be scaring people away and not atracting them. I really don't understand how so many people continue going to such a horrible place. Anyway's, I hope your site goes well but remember that when you try to tell people not to do something or go somewhere, the exact opposite thing happens. VIVA MEXICO!!! Brad gave me the inspiration OK, pilgrim you have a forum. So what. You are doing a disservice to all Mexican resorts. Of the millions of visitors to Mexico, these crimes per thousand are miniscule. All travel is risky in any country. On my honeymoon in cancun about 10 years ago, late at night I saw a group of American college tourists beating the crap out of each other in the parking lot at TGI Friday's. I think you have just one horrible experience and you thnik that everyone must have one, we all sorry for that, and we hop you cant survive, :) |
