What is the tax & to bring gifts from the USA to Mexico.? |
Travel Info I would like to bring several electronics, like a playstation 2, to Mexico from the USA to give to a friend. Will i have to pay an import duty? If so, how much? Travel Tips The limit is $300, but you can usually get away with taking more though, especially if you cross by car. Rule of thumb, always take everything out from it's packaging, claim it as used and as yours and you'll have less hassle and be able to carry on a little more. Your brand new $150 PS2 will now have a $50 value, get what I'm sayin?... Others They usualy tell you to pay $50. It's rare the times they ask you to pay those $50. Just make sure you lugage weighs the limit of you airline lugage and that they mark your lugage as fragile so nothing breaks. You should just act like its yours..I took one to my stepson an no one stopped me..make sure you take a couple games too though cause the games are more expensive there...Try going to like gamestop or eb games cause the used ones are way cheaper...Good Luck~ Well, the rule is if you are bringing less than US300 in gifts, they are tax free. You know what most people do, they seperate the items from the boxes. Look I have brought 2 lap tops thru custom before etc and I never pay taxes. You must really be an idiot if you get caught and have to pay taxes. Just fudge your way thru and give them some excuse. |
