Travel Info Have the riots stopped in Oaxaca, safe to travel ? Travel Tips The protests in Oaxaca never threatened or harmed any tourists, nor the expat community there. I lived in Mexico for 10 years, saw numerous such protests, traveled when and where I chose and loved every minute of my time there. You will LOVE Oaxaca. What a beautiful city. Buen viaje. Others according to the government they have. However, some various splinter groups are still blockading streets and vandalizing monuments w/ slogans.
