Travel Info this saturday me and my paps are going to (TJ) mexico to drop off a car for a paint job -its alot cheaper$$- but my question is do i need(im 17 year old) a passport to come back from mexico and does my dad need a passport or what? Travel Tips You have gotten 3 incorrect answers...the truth is that you only need a passport if you are FLYING to and from Mexico. Starting in Jan. of 2008, you will need a passport for any type of travel to and from Mexico. For now you just need your birth certificate and a picture I.D. Source(s): travel.state.gov Other Travel Tips Starting next year you will need a passport.. if you're only going for the day i don't think so.... but for more than one day yes. but i haven't been there in a long time. Thanks to these terrorist you need a passport to get into the good ol' USA. Going into Mexico you don't need a passport but coming back in to the USA both of you need a passport. Passports are better- it gets you through faster with less hassle. A license and a birth certificate is acceptable. This is when you really need/ don't need one... If you're flying... yes, no exceptions. If you're driving... no (but you will in 2008) If you're going by cruise/boat... no (but you will in 2008) No just your I.D and Soacial Security card but staring next year you will certainly need one |
