Travel Tips ok, it's about 15 hours. 3 hours to monterrey, about 5 to aguascalientes, 3 to guadalajara, and 4 to vallarta. from guadalajara to vallarta is a lot slower going, the roads are windy, but the rest of the trip is very smooth. if you stay on the tolls it can be expensive...i think i spent maybe 100 USD between aguascalientes and vallarta. and then of course whatever you encounter before that. i think from aguas to the border there are only 4 major tolls. if you are on toll roads, it's ok to drive at night in mexico. the question is....what do you do when you want to sleep? you have to get off the toll road to do that. Others I think maybe 2 days or less non stop. My dad drove from Anaheim, Ca. to Sayula, Jalisco in three days....Puerto Vallerta is 6 hours from Sayula. It's about 1200 miles and it's a good 2 day drive because you DON'T want to drive in Mexico at night. 1,403 Kilometers from Nuevo Laredo to Puerto Vallarta, 14 hours of non-stop driving and $1,030 spent on Toll roads. Drive by night, there's no problem. I travel at night all the time, nothing to worry about. Frist you have to get a Permit from the Mexican Consulate I think is free -then you have to purchase Mexican Insurance to travel in Mexico you will Ned a Passport and if I were you is better to take the Buss less danger rite now there is to much going on with the Drug Cartel |
