I plan on retiring in Mexico soon. Where can I get info about doing this? |
Travel Info Is there a US government agency that has info about this? Travel Tips Hi, I am an American, retired and living in Mexico. The U.S. go't doesn't give info on this but there are many books (paperbacks in the travel section at Barnes and Noble), and many websites that give info on this. just do a web search on retiring in Mexico. However...the BEST info is from people who have retired here. You will need a passport and a visa. You need to decide what kind of town you want to live in, what your budget will be, what climate you want. There are a million details...if I could be of help to you iIwould be glad to tell you my experience and answer questions. You may email me thru Yahoo answers if you like. Others you might try any travel angent they may could tell you something Check out this site: mexicomike.com I have lived in Mexico for over 15 years . . . When you decide what state you want to live in, surf the 'net, lots of info there. A qualified real estate agent in the area would be of help too. Be very sure that's what you want to do...visit the place, spend a couple of weeks, talk to local gringos about facilities and services. Its not the bargain paradise it once was especially in the border states. Lives in Baja Norte |
