To anyone who evacuated Houston prior to Hurricane Rita, didn't it seem like you were in Mexico? |
Travel Info I spent 20 hours traveling 120 miles up I-45, along with about 400, 000 others. I would just like to know if anyone else noticed... . I'm positive there are more illegals here than we realize and are being told. Travel Tips We lived on Lake Conroe at that time. Alot of the problem was that Houston was evactuation central after Katrina hit Louisiana.....it was alot of people to evacuate in a small time period. We noticed ALOT more Louisiana/Mississippi, etc residents more than illegals. Others Let me tell you something-- those Illegals went to work real fast to collect Watter Blankets Can good whatever the cold goatherd for the Catrina victims so have some decency and don't talk before you get your facts-- and not every body that speak Spanish is Illegal Well, it shouldn't come to you as a surprise as you are in TX (and Houston at that), so you will see more Latin American people (especially Mexican), both legal and illegal. Government is estimating about 12 Million illegals (can't remember if that number is strictly for Mexican illegals or for all illegals), but on top of that, add the several million that are already legal and/or born he... so yeah, I'm sure you saw herds and herds of cars full of many Latin American people, many of which you can't tell if they were or were not legal... welcome to the Southwest! =O) |
