nope. use your visa card and you will get the best conversion rate, vendors will take us dollars most of the time too.
Not quite on the Visa card. Check your agreements with your bank. Many many banks charge additional fees for currency conversions. That and the majority of merchants in mexico aren't going to take credit cards, especially if you want to haggle of prices on stuff.

And anways, you really don't need to convert it. US dollars have more weight in mexico than pesos do anyways. Just bring cash you'll be fine almost anywhere you go.
Most vendors in Ensenada will give change in $US-- occasionally they may not have exact change in Dollars and need to give pesos, usually with an exchange rate- which you'll use the next time you buy something!
