What is the best Mexican resort area/city where I can relax and swim at the beach and also do ATV excursions? |
Travel Info I am looking for a nice (4+ star) Mexican resort area to please adults and a 16 year old son. We would like to be able to relax at the beach, near calm swimable waters, do a half-day ATV Excursion, and have other available activities. Was considering Cabo San Lucas and Cozumel. Any suggestions would be appreciated. We have never been to Mexico. Travel Tips Puerto Vallarta was the only Mexican area that I spent a lot of time at - so I would suggest there. Cabo and Cozumel are quite North Americanized, I've heard . . . consider Pismo Beach, in CA, also . . . less hassle with 'tainted' food and water, customs, and long air travel - and - all that you are seeking for recreation. Others My favorite resort city in Mexico is Cancun. Lots of great activities, clubs, and restaurants. The water is crystal clear and the beach, in my opinion, is top 5 in the world. My wife has been to Acapulco twice and she says it is pretty phenomenal. If you would like more of a Mexican feel to the vacation because Cozumel, Cancun, Cabo, and Acapulco are very commercialized, Americanized, and expensive, try Ixtapa. If you would like an affordable Mexican getaway, Puerto Penasco is within driving distance of Arizona. However, Puerto Penasco is not nearly as nice as the major resort cities. |
