Has anyone been to the mayan riviera in mexico? Any ideas of what to do there and what it's like? |
Travel Info I'm going in September to the Grand Sirenis in Mexico and don't want to just laze around for two weeks. Help! Travel Tips Well, The Mayan Riviera in M茅xico is a beatitul place to spend your vacation. There are lots of things to do and places to visit. The beaches are beautiful, and you can find diferent beaches, every one with distinct atractions. Over there you will find so much snorkeling and diving, everywhere you go, because of the clear water so you can see some of the sea life. You must visit XCARET, wich is a great ecological park, there you can snorkel and take a close look to the flora and fauna, swim with dolphins, and even find archaeological mayan constructions. There are a couple of natural underground rivers, wich you can explore. And at the end of the day, or in the middle you can see the great spectacule they offer: The Xcaret Spectacular Mexico Night Show, wich is really worth to see. http://www.xcaret.com/ You have to visit Xelha, wich is another water theme park, it has not as much as Xcaret, but is beatiful and great as well. http://www.xel-ha.com/ You can visit the beautiful islands: "Isla Mujeres" and "Cozumel", where you will enjoy clear water in their beautiful beaches. In "Isla Mujeres" there is a mayan temple, and you will be able to swim with turtles. http://www.bestday.com/isla_mujeres/... Of course you have to visit TULUM .. Tulum is the largest Maya construction built on the coast and its now the most visited archeological site in all of Mexico. For a bunch of old stone buildings, Tulum is a particularly impressive site, perched as it is high on top of limestone cliffs that spill down to the turquoise waters of the Caribbean below. I'm just mentioning some of the places to visit, but there are lots of things to do, get there and ask, don't miss anything. You will be willing to comeback! i麓m sure. Others I've been to Cancun. Go to Chitzenetza and Tulum. Well worth the trip, spectacular. Found Cancun very expensive though (拢4 for a small baked potato with coleslaw). Mind you the place was full of rich Americans eating lobster. Best value food to be found in the restaurants of the French hotels. Avoid the big US ones. There are too day tours to Cuba and Belize (very near). Don麓t forget to visit the wonderful piramids and old maya cities: Palenque, Chichen Itza, Tulum, Xcaret, etc. |
