Wedding traditions in Mexico? |
Travel Info Me and my fiance are getting married in three weeks and he is originally from Mexico. Can anyone tell me a little about weddings in Mexico, maybe i could do here? Travel Tips Depends what religion is he, if he's catholic you will have to go to the church and marry the old way (white dress, black suit... the ring thing and you will be united by a lasso, tons of pictures, friends, flowers, the church priest... yay). When you step out of the church family and friends will throw you rice (not the cooked one) to wish you abundance. Then you will have to marry by the law, sometimes a lawyer is called at the same place the party does and in a separate room you will have to sign. Then the party starts with dinning, by the end of the dinning thing you and your father will have to stand up and dance (if he says some words better) then he passes you to your husband and you end dancing lonely. Then you will have to cut the wedding cake and enveryone starts to dance until the next day. Better ask him this is too large. I WISH YOU THE BEST Source(s): Mexican living in Mexico Other Travel Tips it depends on the religion, if it's a catholic wedding it's usually longer, and in some places they actually have the bride and groom sit in a chair, and a white lasso is placed around the bride & groom. Like many places in the world, traditions will vary as much among religions and regions as among countries! Depending upon what part of Mexico your finance is from (and your religion), familiar customs may vary. But, it might be helpful for the two of you to look through the suggestions on the following websites and discuss which options might be meaningful to both of you. http://www.weddingdetails.com/lore/mexic... http://www.adventureweddingspv.com/weddi... http://www.dating.tc/weddingsmexicostyle... well one big one for the older people is the white dress make sure your still a virgin if you wear white if not don't be surprised when all the very very old Lady's start whispering when you pass them down the isle something new something borrow and something blue and something old. in the party he takes your liguero (he can explain to you) and trow to all the single men. dont use pearls (they mean tears in your marrige) |
