Travel Tips
I am an American living in Mexico and have a friend in Australia about to start the process of getting a visa tocome live in Mexico. If you are retired, it is easy, if you need to work, it is difficult...you need to have a needed job skill and find an employer in order to get a work visa. if your income is sufficient you can come, then find an employer... not easy. Only way to apply for a visa in Australia is to go to the embassy in Canberra in person. If you would like to be in contact with my friend in Australia, you can email me thru yahoo and give me your email address.....I will give it to him and he can write to you.
Others
either a visa or Passport.
Get your Australian passport. Go to the Mexican Embassy or Mexican Consulate in Australia probably in Canberra and you will apply for a visa. I am not sure if they let you begin the process by mail or on the internet so check it out first. Good luck.
Get a passport, contact the mexican embassy & they can tell u the steps required to go to mexico.
been there
You do not need a visa (for less than 90 days I think)

If you are a citizen of Andorra, Argentina, Australia, Austria, Belgium, Canada, Chile, Costa Rica, the Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Great Britain, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Island, Israel, Italy, Japan, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Monaco, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Puerto Rico, San Marino, Singapore, Slovenia, Spain, South Korea, Sweden, Switzerland, United States of America, Uruguay or Venezuela, you don鈥檛 need a visa to enter Mexico, although you must present a valid passport and fill out an immigration form for tourists and business trips, which can be obtained in travel agencies, airlines or at the point where you enter Mexico.

The immigration officer at your point of entry into Mexico can also request that you demonstrate that you have sufficient funds and a return ticket to your country.

If you are a citizen of any other country, you need to go to a Mexican consulate to request a visa. If you have a family member, friend or acquaintance in Mexico, he or she can do this at the INM.

Consult the requirements or go to any of the INM delegations throughout Mexico for detailed information about requesting a visa.
