Has anyone who has traveled to Mexico ever-? |
Travel Info has any bad experiences? Like being pick pocketed, robed, arrested for no reasom etc. I heard on AMW(Americas Most wanted)that some spring breakers have disappeared and their families can not get any co-operation with mexican law officials. Is it really dangerous down there for US citizens? Travel Tips The Resort Cities are very safe as long as you hang near the resorts. You're not gonna get robbed or come up missing if you're a tourist with common sense. The areas are well developed, well-secured, and ran by very good people. If you visit NYC and end up in the wrong neighborhood, bad things can happen. Same thing with Hawaii. Every Metro has its areas in which you need to stay away from. Mexico is the same way. The cities have nice, safe areas, but they also have trouble spots. It just so happens that because it is not as modern as the U.S., the bad places are larger and more populated. If you're going to Mexico, you will have a great vacation. Just don't go off the beaten path. Others Worst thing that happened to me was that I was 18 and bringing a bottle of wine and tequila back for my father. (No kidding!) We all got detained, but thankfully my teacher vouched for me and said it was hers and had packed it in my bag. Took about an hour and a half before we could leave. And I got to keep it! And she's now a state representative. Actually, I live on the border and have been to Mexico many times. It's all about knowing where to go and what to do. I have also spent long lengths of time there with no bad experiences. Where you run into trouble is when you get someone who is cocky or a woman who has a loud, obnoxious mouth. Drinking and possible drugs/drug connections is where people mess up. You aren't thinking clearly and start trouble, then yes, bad things happen. You have to be a good "tourist" and not make stupid mistakes. Most people who are disappearing are those that did not take care of temselves and put themselves in bad situations by choice. I went down there with a girlfriend of mine we got drunk and came back married!!!! I麓m a u.s. citizen and i have never had problems going to Mexico, its a great country, it has great beaches and cities.. The People are great, the food is great and its beautiful.. People just have to be careful on going places, that they would never even visit in there own hometown... That's all.. Like in any major city or Beach resort around the world, you always should watch where you visit and who you speak with during your vacation... Take Care.. Bcn_mimosa currently Living in Barcelona, Spain No, I haven't had any bad experiences in Mexico. I am an Anglo female from Texas and I have driven to Nuevo Laredo, to Monterry (2 more hours in) and to Monclova. I think people wrongly stereotype Mexico. Something bad can happen anywhere, but I have only had very pleasant experiences there everytime that I've gone. The resort towns are beautiful and very secure. And if your a diver then you realy need to recherche some of the dive shops cause me and my mom went to a local dive shop in cancun. They took us out on a VEERRRRYY wavy day and it was my mom first time. there was people getting sick every where me and my mom got in for our first dive and everything went well but when we started diving to our second dive site the boat helpers dropped a tank on a womens foot and they wouldnt take her to shore. so my mom got sick and i went down with a intructer and we got tooken away by the current and when we came up their was no boat! luckily the intructer had a air horn and we got into another boat and they took us into shore and i was reconnected by my parents! well my parents and the lady whos foot was crushed by a tank tried to sue but they could not get help from anyone so we just had to leave cuz they claimed nothing happened and the mexican law officails didnt help.Hope that Helped!! P.S. i hope your a diver cuz in looks that way from your pick |
