Aztec PYRAMIDS??? |
Travel Info ONCE WHEN I WAS A LITTLE A BOY I SEEN A PICTURE OF A TOURIST BUS IN FORNT OF AZTEC PYRAMIDS I WAS WONDERING WHERE ARE THEY AT AND HOW CAN GET INFO ON GOING? Travel Tips They are actually Mayan not Aztec, and are located in Southern Mexico and through out central America. Here's some links to get you started learning about them and getting info to get down there. Also, my mom and stepdad went to Teotihuacan two years ago and saw the pyramids and even got to climb them, they said it was amazing and beautiful. It's totally worth it to go. Mexico city was built on top of many Aztec sites. Piramide del sol and piramide de la luna are some of the most espectacular pyramids to visit. Mayan archeological sites are also really spectacular. They are all over Peninsula de Yucatan Dai is partially correct. The Mayan pyramids are on the Yucatan Peninsula. However, the pyramids you saw were at Teotihuac谩n, about an hour north of Mexico City. There are various tours there, or you can take a bus from la Estaci贸n Terminal de Autobuses del Norte in Mexico City. If you are flying into the Benito Juarez Airport, you can get a cab from there to take you to the bus station. Make sure you tell them the correct bus station. There are four, and they all transport in different directions away from Mexico City. Here's info from Wikitravel: Once inside the station walk towards Gate 8. There is a ticket both almost at the end of the concourse. A one way ticket will run you 27 pesos (October 2006). Autobuses Teotihuac谩n leave the North bus station every half an hour or so. Check that your bus goes to the site entrance of Teotihuacan ruinas and not just to the town of San Juan Teotihuac谩n nearby. It will take around an hour, and the buses run until about 6pm - check the last departure before you leave. I'd suggest taking an early bus to avoid the crowds. Bring a water bottle, too, as you'll be doing LOTS of walking. http://wikitravel.org/en/teotihuacan... This web site has a great picture of Teotihuac谩n. |
