Can I ship packages of cloths and jewelry from Mexico to the US? |
Travel Info I would like to travel to Mexico, leave my car at the border and walk across, then have a cab drive me around shopping.I will be buying a lot of cloths and jewelry & stuff for resale and cant carry all of this around in cabs with me all day so I would like to ship my packages back home to the US.What do I need to do this and is it going to be a problem? Travel Tips The regular Mexican mail is not reliable. Things, if they do get there, may take a long time. Packages do get stolen from the regular mail. I was told that by the director of a school in Mexico. Here is something from Frommer's Guide Online: Mail -- Postage for a postcard or letter is 1 peso; it may arrive anywhere from 1 to 6 weeks later. A registered letter costs $1.90. Sending a package can be quite expensive -- the Mexican postal service charges $8 per kilo (2.2 lb.) -- and unreliable; it takes 2 to 6 weeks, if it arrives at all. The recommended way to send a package or important mail is through FedEx, DHL, UPS, or another reputable international mail service. There are some mail services in Mexico that have a Texas mailing address. You can send packages through them. They will take your package, bring it to Texas, mail it there through the US Postal Service, and pick up packages from their Texas mailing address and transport them to Mexico. Source(s): http://www.frommers.com/destinations/mex... and personal experience. Other Travel Tips Its not going to be a problem just go to the post office and they will box it and ship it for you. HELLO CLOTH NO PROBLEM. JEWLERY IS METAL. THEY MAY THINK IT IS SOMETHING ELSE. BY CAR, BY PLANE U CARRY. BY BUS.... BY US MAIL UNCERTAIN NEW LAWS AVAIL. THE PACKAGE MAYBE TAKEN OR HELD BACK.. TRY FED EX, UPS........THEY SHIP THERE.. THEY SCAN THE PACKAGE BUT TO SEE IF ITS A BOMB NOT TO KEEP. BEST UPS, Fed Ex,, DHL are reliable ways to ship into and out of Mexico. |
