Pack it the night before or write it down and hang it on the door so you read it.

Make a list of everything you can possibly think of that you might need and go through it right before you leave. Also, pack ahead of time so that you aren't rushing. I wish I had made a list when I went to Mexico. I forgot my sandals and I couldn't find a big enough pair in Mexico. I had to walk down the beach in shoes. It sucked!
