In August I'm going to ensenada with my father only [parents are divorced]? |
Travel Info i am a minor what documents do i need to get there. we will be on a cruise. do i need written permission from my mother? and can i bring a birth certificate or do i need a passport. do the people speak english there? are the people rude? how are the resturants? is the water safe to drink at resturants? how about the soda? what foods are safe to eat and what should i NOT carry with me, or wear. Travel Tips You do need some documents, but like they said up there, it might be just your passport and some kinda written permission from your Mom. Most people in the tourism industry speak english (airport, cruises, hotels, restaurants) especially in Ensenada because well, you know they're too close to the border to the States and well, they kinda have to. I wouldn't say we mexicans are rude, i think we're very nice *smiles*.. the water in here is safe enough, but you guys are used to something else, so i'd say just drink bottled water, just in case.. Restaurants are pretty nice, also like they said up there, food is waaaaaay cheaper in here than in the states, and don't forget to try our mexican food as well, just make sure it's not that hot cus your stomach could not be used to that and you don't wanna have dhiarrea!! lol.. We also have all kinds of soda, just like you guys do, pepsi, coca cola, diet coke, 7up, sprite and all that we have, so don't worry. I'd say all types of food are safe, be careful with fish though, just make sure it's well cooked. You can carry with you whatever you want to, we all have ipods and nice jewerly in here too! lol.. Nobody's gonna steal nothing from you i can assure you. And wear whatever you want to, we mexicans are not what you guys think, belive me.. Be yourself and i hope you have a wonderful time in our country! Have a great day Tako Others Since you are a minor traveling only with your Dad I believe you do need written consent from your mom you will also need a passport. Most of the people in the "touristy" parts of Mexico do speak English so don't worry about that. Regarding your question about people being rude don't even worry about that. The majority of the Mexican people are nice and helpful. Only drink bottled water (hotel, restaurants, etc). The rest is up to you and your Dad's discretion (what to wear and what to eat). Once you get there you'll have an idea about it. There are very inexpensive casual restaurants near the beach that serve lobster and other sea food for much less than U.S. And yes, Only drink bottled beverages. Their culture is different from ours and you may see men "checking you out", but that's Mexican men. Tell your dad to chill, 'cause the guys won't try anything, they just like to openly watch American young women. Hope you have a good time! Even as a minor, trraveling with an adult, you should have proof of identification. Dad should have a passport. Check with the cruise line, according to the US Dept. of State, passports are required for cruisers. Unless there is a custody dispute between Mom and Dad, there's no problem traveling alone with him. Dress modestly, drink canned or bottled drinks, have a grand time, Mexico is a civilized country, people in Ensenada are used to cruise ship passengers. Have Dad take you to El Rey Sol, very posh restaurant with great food. Outdoor cafe style with heavenly pastry. Bien Viaje |
