Travel Info Anybody know anything about going on vacation to Mexico? Travel Tips We visit somewhere in Mexico every year and have for about 10-12 years. Cabo is great if you want something that is still kind of like being in the US. The west coast areas of Puerto Vallarta, Nayarit (the state just North of PV) as well as Zijuatenejo (sp) can be rainy in the summer but the rain doesn't last long. Cabo is more deserty, the west coast mainland is more jungle-like in vegetation due to the rains, and is more like another country. On the east coast, Cancun on the Yucatan peninsula is where I went when I was young and looking to party - there are more family-oriented places just south of there. If you don't care for the beach, there's always Mexico City and even places like Monterrey, surrounded by beautiful mountains. Just like in the US (if that's where you're from), it is a large and very diverse country with something for everyone. People are wonderful and friendly, but just like in any country, there are bad folks around, so be aware of your surroundings (as you should be no matter where you go). Others Don't drink the water. Dont wear flashy jewelry, take suncream, stay in your group. If you really dont speak spanish stay in the tourist areas..Dont venture to far out on your own from where you are staying. Drink plenty of bottled water and gatorade for the heat. Besides that have a great time. Sit back and relax as you will see no one is really in a hurry (except the taxi drivers)lol I travel home once a year~ Mexico just as visiting any other country with a high amout of poor people in it's cities, don't make yourself stand out too much, clothes, jewlery. TRY TO DRINK BOTTLED WATER. DONT SPEAK ENGLISH CAUSE UR A TARGET FOR $. DONT LOOK RICH. DONT WEAR JEWLERY.TRY TO PAY WITH MEXICAN MONEY. AND TRY DIFFRENT FOODS. BUT MAKE SURE U KNOW WHAT UR EATING! HAVE FUN!!!! Stay far away from where tourists go. Stay away from resorts and beaches. See the real Mexico, it is breath taking beautiful. |
