Entry to Mexico?

My 11 month old and I are planning our trip to Mexico (we are staying for good... in other words, we wont need a passport for re-entry). I also know that in order to enter Mexico you have to have a notarized letter from the father since it will be just she and I. He is not listed on the birth certificate, and he is in Mexico so I am unable to obtain his signature.

She has a birth certificate and a photo ID, and I have my passport. Will we be allowed to ENTER?

Not meaning anything personal to you, but I hope they make it very hard for ANYONE to take a child across the border without consent from the child's other parent. There are just too many kidnappings to let this happen so easily.
Get the documentation that you need so there Will be no problem.
.All I can say is that after the beginning of next year. Every American Citizen will be required a passport to enter back into the USA. You say that you will NEVER enter back to the USA? When you enter to Mexico, you don't have to show anything, at least I didn't when I came and entered through Juarez. (Puente Zaragosa) I have been here since the beginnings of June. And when I go back, I will show my passport and my sons birth certificate. About the letter of permission, I have tried that before and they have never ever asked me for a letter from the father. I have traveled back and forward since November of last year. Since my husband is fixing his papers. I come and go to visit him. I always have traveled with my 3 year old son, and have had no problems.
Presuming you are in the USA - why would you you want to leave all the 'freebees' available here? Too many other Mexicans do everything they can to be here. I don't get it!

However, I hope you and your child will be able to enter Mexican space (if that's where you really want to be). If the father can be proven to live in Mexico, it should be easier.
