How much customs duty will a laptop attract if it is bought in US and sent over to Mexico City? |
Travel Info will it make sense to buy in US considering all taxes,duties etc.?thanks Travel Tips My old laptop I brought to Mexico with me 2 yrs. ago died. So my son-in-law in Texas picked me out a nice one for about half the price they are here in Mexico and sent it to me. Customs does not open every package from the states to Mexico, but I got LUCKY and they opened this one!!! I had to pay duty of about $140.00on the laptop... even tho he "used" it a little and labeled it as "used." Laptops cost almost twice as much here as in the states, so it was still worth it.
