Travel Info Is the port of Bilbao a good place to catch a suntan in June? Travel Tips San Sebastian is my best bet. Second would be Bakio Beach. :) Others Not really. It's a river port and is inland, no beaches, try San Sebastian instead. Honestly, why suntan at the port of Bilbao? It is a industrial harbour. Try San Sebastian with its great beaches or any other little town around. But, for the best results for you skin, you have to go to the south mediteraen coast. In Spain right now As good as the french atlantic coast. Better go south. I think Bilbao is a great place to be in July. It is not as hot as in the south of Spain and close to Bilbao there are many fantastic beaches. Also you avoid the hoards of tourists. The port of Bilbao might not be the best place for sun tanning. The beach closest to Bilbao is in Getxo. You can get there by metro from Bilbao center (only 6 metro stops to get there). If you are willing to ride the metro to the end station you get to Plentzia.
