What is the best part to get to know Spain?

Travel Info
Like to spend 2 months to learn the language and get to know the culture.

Travel Tips
Don't do Barcelona! Don't know what everybody feels about this city. It is not Spanish, but Catalan, and most let you know and feel it. It is totally over priced and smelly.
Madrid is the capital, busy and loud and pricy aswell.
Tray getting a small Piso (room in a flat) in Granada, Salamanca and other Spanish cities. Granada is great and cheaper than Madrid or Barcelona, Cordoba aswell. And in those kind of cities, you will get the real flair of Spain.

Rent a room in a flat, but make sure you will have Spanish speaking flat mates, that way, you are more forced to pick up the language.
Rooms maybe around 220 to 300 Euro in Cordoba or Granada, staring 300 euro in Madrid or Barcelona.

And, be warned, standards here in Spain are different than in your country!! Be prepared to look at rooms you would hold a dog, but not yourself for a month or more! Source(s): Lived and worked in Spain
Other Travel Tips
I will vote for Barcelona, is the most cosmopolitan city in Spain. Maybe you can learn a little from both languages, Spanish and Catalan.
Buen viaje.
If you want to learn about the actual Spanish culture, i would recommend, Madrid, Toledo, Segovia, Salamanca, Or Seville in Andalusia..
I live in Barcelona, and even though its part of Spain, its very different then the rest of Spain....
Don麓t get me wrong I love this city, That's why i moved here but if you want to Just learn Castillano ( Spanish) then go to the cities above...
Barcelona is more Catalan then Spanish , which means that its a Beautiful Bilingual city but the language of preference is Catalan, and not always Spanish....

As in other parts of Spain, such as the Basque country ( the first language is Basque ( Vasco), Then Spanish, and Galicia ( first language is Gallego, then Spanish) and Valencia (first language is valenciano, then Spanish).. Alot of people don麓t know that that's why i just wanted to let you know so that when you come to Spain to learn Spanish you are able to pick the correct regions to visit and go too!
Hope my opinion helped you a little!
Have a great Day and take care!

Spain is many countries all rolled into one therefore the culture in Spain is very varied and interesting. Its Atlantic shores and the huge plains of the interior have very distinct characteristics. Similarly, the Mediterranean Costa's change 鈥榝lavour鈥?as they sweep down from the Pyrenees through the pine forests of the Costa Brava.

I agree with all the above comments, but you may consider that if you going in summer inland can get unbearable. Madrid, Granada are great places, but can get too hot in summer and nippy in winter. You also have to watch the accent in Andalusia. Bet accent rp is Castile. Valencia is worth a thought.
