When an academic year starts and ends in Spain?? |
Travel Info What are the approximate dates, and are they the same every year?? Is it the same for junior and senior students and is it based on what region the school is in?? Travel Tips The academic year is the same for all of Spain. The date fluctuates, each school year changes, but the starting date is usually the second monday in september, and the classes usually end on the friday closest to june 24th. The only differences in each region are the local holidays. The school holidays are one week in november (mid-term), two weeks (aproximately) for Christmas, returning on the day after the Epiphany (jan. 6) or the following monday. And another mid-term week for Easter. Others In the costa Blanca the year starts in September and ends at the end of June. this may be different in the other areas. Children in Junior school go half days during the months of June and september due to the heat. The rest of the year is full days from 9 to 1 then return at 3 til 4.30. The children can stay for commador which is dinners and get the school but The academic season starts the first week of September,and ends the first week of June.However,the students go a half day the last week of August to prepare for the start of the school year.
