I am not going to sugar coat my answer,because I am sure you want the truth.It is next to impossible to get citizenship in Spain.You would be better served to try to become a legal resident,and even that is difficult.I will just give you some of the requirements.Proof that you have the income to support yourself,and a place to live.Next,you will have to have health insurance.You will also have to have a police report from your home town that you have no criminal record.Next,you will have to have a physical evaluation.The most important thing before you even get started is you must have a sponsor.You should go to the nearest Spanish consulate or embassy,and get all the requirements.I am a legal resident,but my wife is Spanish,and I have a good retirement,and I also own a home here in Valencia.Even with that,I had some problems.Keep in mind that Spain does not recognize dual citizenship,so you would have to give up your citizenship of your own country.This only part of what you can expect to go thru.just to become a legal resident.If you are a citizen of a country within the European community it will not be nearly as difficult. |
