Is it cheaper to book flight and hotel SEPERATELY these days or still go for the traditional package holiday? |
Travel Info I'm a bit new to booking hotels etc online. Most perople say this is cheaper than to go to, say, Thompson Holidays? best to book it all yourself? What about coach transfers etc? Travel Tips These days it seems to depend on three things: 1) Where you are going; 2) When you are going and how long for; 3) How many of you going. In the popular destinations during the peak season, it can work out cheaper to take a package holiday if going for less than a couple of weeks. Others You can get some very cheap deals on flights if you book a while ahead and also travel out of season. Likewise if you shop around you can get some cheap deals on hotels. If there are a few of you holidaying together then it often works out better value to rent an apartment or villa. http://www.costadelsol-vacationrentals.c... I travel a lot and have use both methods. To be honest, there's very little difference depending on how far in advance you book. Book low cost flights well in advance and you'll get a good price normally. On saying that, my mates did this in January for a holiday this month and they've gone DOWN. He's not happy. Suppose the the moral is, if you think it's a good deal, just book it. By the way, I book all my hols online and wouldn't consider going to a high st travel agent.
