Travel Info I'm not sure if I want to go via school, teacher or just as a visitor. I want to get the full experience and at a reasonable rate. What's the best way to take in Spain? Travel Tips I don't know your age, but if you're are old enough I suggest working here. That's what my mum did when she was 22 (she's English) and she liked it so much she never returned home! If you're not old enough, then I suggest studying for some months. That's what I did (in England). About someone suggesting Madrid and the South, I actually recommend Barcelona and the North, mainly because the Spanish spoken there is better and you could always go to the South for a visit. And yes, I agree the food is really good. Paella is very famous (sorry, no clue what jambalaya is) but fish and shellfish is one of the best in the world (in the North, that is), meat is really tasty, and so is the fruit (Spanish mandarin's and watermelons are sold in all Europe). Make sure that you can get money when it is needed. I think you are too young to go backpacking alone, but when you do go to Spain, use the "Rough Guide", select the cheaper hotels from it (All of them are clean). Hire a car and concentrate on Madrid and South Spain (Andalucia). This is where all the history (Moors invasions etc) took place. Fabulous cities like Seville, Grenada, Al Hambra to name just 3. Rooms will cost you approx. 25 Euros per night, that's about $34 US. That will be for a double room with shower or bath...per room NOT per person. Some may even include two breakfasts for that price. Northern Spain also has history, but is more noted for the scenery. Hola,If you have the choice go with the school at your age as the school parties get special rates to visit many culture events and tourist theme parks and more.Which ever you choose have a great holiday vacation in this beautiful country |
