I was just there today and saw the pit-o-bears.
Bern is the capital of Switzerland. It has 140'000 inhabitants. The name "Bern" allegedly comes from the German word B盲r (Bear) after Duke Berthold V of Z盲hringen (again allegedly) killed a bear there, hence the name.
