Is it true that a permanent resident in the U.S.doesn't need a visa for a short stay in Switzerland?

Travel Info
I am a permanent resident in the United States. Is it true that Idon't need a visa for a short stay in Switzerland? What if Ijust want to visit France for a day or two? Will they ask me for a visa at the border when entering France?

Travel Tips
Yes, it's true you don't need a visa for a stay up to 3 months in Switzerland (see link offered). As far as I know, France has a comparable practice - so it should not be any problem to visit France as well. Source(s): http://www.weisungen.bfm.admin.ch/einrei...
