Is marijuana legal in Switzerland? |
Travel Info I know not completely legal.. but i heard it kinda was, can somebody clarify? Travel Tips Cannabis has been effectively decriminalized, and an estimated 250 shops openly sell the drug throughout Switzerland. Others yes, formedicalorif you don;t sell it to everyone. You can smoke for medical reasons. Just a neat thing: Hydronated Oils are illegal there. (but marijuana isn't) LOL. I've never seen a shop selling pot in Switzerland - it is illegal. But get on any smoking car on a train when the kids are going to school and you'll get a contact high. In many cities in the German and the Italian speaking part of Switzerland there have been drug raids in hemp shops and hemp planting areas. Most of the retailers were closed and the crops found were confiscated and burned. In Basel the police closed 28 of 32 shops last year. The same happened in Berne and two years before in the Italian speaking Canton Tessin. The immense production of hemp plants, which was partly exported to the north of Italy, was confiscated and the persons responsible were charged with of drug producing and trafficking. http://www.dpna.org/3swissdrubpolicy.htm... No Pot is illegal in Switzerland!!! Shops openly selling pot is total crap. I have never seen it and given the conservatve nature of the society, the Swiss would revolt if it were legal. Absolutely illegal and I am sure they would lock you up for a long time if you were caught using or selling. They don't fool around. Remember, Switzerland is a Police State. |
