What is there to do in Chur, Switzerland? |
Travel Info I have 24hrs in Chur, Switzerland. What should I do while I'm there? Travel Tips Chur is a lame and annoying city. the best thing you can do is visting Davos, it's only 21km (13 miles) away. have a nice stay there. ------- addendum ok, in this case i would suggest you travel a few miles (less than 50 from Chur) direction north to Bregenz at the border of the Lake Constance (Bodensee). Bregenz is in Austria just at the border to Switzerland and Germany. Bregenz is a very nice city, at the day you can do a journey on the lake and for a night activity there is a Casino and for eating you will find a lot of good restaurants. Others LOOK 4 A `ST-BERNARD`Dog`if u find one`UL`Get a FREE`BRANDY`` The best thing to do in any Swiss city is find a good place to eat and get some Roesti. Unfortunately Chur is not the most exciting place in the world but check out www.myswitzerland.com for some ideas. I live in Zuerich and remember that the public transport here is second to none, never late and totally reliable. You could always take a trip out of the city. You could visit Arosa (lovely mountain resort) or go to Liechtenstein. I've been to Chur.... not much to do really.... On the other hand , take any regional train and in less than an hour you are up up in the mountais where u find loads of nice resorts and loads of greeneries... It is worth it.... I miss Helvetia...soupiiiiiiiiir..... It is basically a ski resort. Not much to do during summer Have a look at the Rhaetian Railway site http://www.rhb.ch/index.e.php As others have said Chur is not much of a place but any trip on the RHB is a must. Have a ride up to St Moritz and onto Italy (Tirano) via Alp Grum wonderful scenery at any time of year. If you are brave and the weather is good try out the Panorama coaches like nothing you have ever travelled in before. |
