Hello ! I'm backpacking to Lucerne & Zurich in June. Any idea how much I should budget per day ? |
Travel Info I know that Switzerland is one of the most expensive places in the world. Any suggestions ? Travel Tips Yes, Switzerland is very expensive, but worth the effort. Check out the local markets. The last time I was in Zurich there was a large market in the main train stations, although I wasn't on a budget, per se, I bought some really nice sausages, breads and cheese and had some great meals doing it! So, look for the markets, and, on the lower floor of the main train station in Zurich, there is a Migros with a bakery and a cheese shop - so try there. Look for shops that sell prepared food, like delicatessens....there are plenty of them. I would suggest about 75 to 100 francs a day (not including accommodation) for a pleasant trip! Others Yes, Switzerland is expensive. If you're on a bugdet I'd suggest staying in hostels. For meals you can go to the Migors or Coop (main grocery stores all over Switzerland) and buy your food there. (bread, cheese, juice, fruit....9 Have fun! |
