France or Italy?

Travel Info
France and Italy seem similar to me. Both have rich histories, proud citizens, and are romantic countries with scenic landscapes where wine is the staple beverage.

For those of you who've visited both countries, how would you compare them? Were the French or the Italians friendlier? And finally, which country did you like better?

Travel Tips
I like both the Italians and French. For me it is hard to say which are friendlier.

The landscape is really different in both places. They both are rather large countries that cover lots of different types of regions. Cycling around France is much better, but driving around Italy is better than France.

The food is also very different. There is wider range of food to enjoy or to be surprised by in France. Same goes for the wines.....

If you are going to get out of the cities I would say Italy.

Mmmmmm, just thinking about either place wants me to go to both!!! I went to Portugal for the 1st time last year and i would say just go there :)

Others
France has better fashion and Italy has better food
go for france if u have not seen ieffel tower go for italy if u want good food....
though both r good
prefer going to france
ITALIA is the best
very nice and freindly people
the Italian are so nice
and in italy there is Andrea BOCELLI the greatest
the food is great
and the life is going to easy
go to Milano (DUOMO Cathedral) Wow....
Hmmm tricky question.
Yes both do have all those things....amazing building, fantasic scenery and food and wine etc.
Peoplewise...I tihnk Italy has the upperhand on that one. Its slightly better for getting around on English alone.

There are differences in the buildings, so it depends if you like the incredibly intricate, gold and ornateness (including inside of buildings) of France, with the rustic, outwardly ornate, and more historic (eg Roman) parts of Italy.....tough tough choice.

Good luck with this one....I enjoyed both.

I definately enjoyed aspects of both countries and would go back to both...perhaps I would like to see Italy more than France.....however the last trip before I left the UK was to France, with the most amazing scenery and villages (Quercy area).
