Are their any tips regarding safety for my elderly wife & myself? Are there safe places to park overnight?We would like to see all of S. America over six months or so. Am worried about lawlessness or being pirated.

All Wal-Mart stores allow people to park the motor homes-trailers in their parking lots. You just want to do it away from the store. Also KOA camps are a great place to stay. They usually are very safe. I myself would stay in lighted areas, not so much as rest areas, a lot of people go thru them. Keep your doors locked and don't answer your door if its dark and you can not see who is knocking. I would also have a cell phone in case you need to use it. That would also determine where I would park, I would want to make sure I have sevicr. If your are in an area that you are concerned about, contact the local police department and they will be able to help you. If not tell you of a safe place, then to put extra patrol where you are.
