Other ladies that have travelled abroad alone, how was it?? |
Travel Info I want to go abroad alone backpacking, I want to go to mainland europe. (from uk) Have you done this? Or, Can you recommend any good books, websites?? Travel Tips Travelled many times abroad on my own but not back packing usually in the comfort of hotels. The other person is right 'trust nobody' but do trust your gut feeling if it don't feel right don't do it. Above all keep yourself safe, keep your money hidden just take out what you need to spend for the day and keep the rest out of sight. Most men will want into your knickers or wallet preferably both, don't get drunk with people you don't know watch out for your drink getting spiked, if possible team up with other women back packers to share experiences etc., Let family know where you are and where you intend going next, if you can afford it buy a sim card for the country you are in and that way it will be cheaper to keep in touch with family back home. Enjoy the experience and please keep yourself safe. Have a great trip. Others I have. Keep your wits about you. Be economical with who you "trust" as far as people (men) being a little too friendly. Don't give out too much personal information to strangers. Look for one of those websites that caters for backpackers and couch sharing. Check out the YHA website and you will find a directory of other youth hostels you may want to visit. Lonely I find Expedia.co.uk very useful before I go on holiday. Haven't really traveled to Europe on my own but I have flown to the Philippines on my own to visit friends out there and it was scary at first but, I found out that it was not as bad as I thought. I even made a friend on the plane there and chatted for hours, so who knows! |
