I want to send my brother and wife on vacation...what's the best way? |
Travel Info My brother and his wife just got married a year ago. They never had a proper honeymoon and my brother has never been out of the country. I want to be able to finance up to about $2000 of a vacation for them but I don't want to just give them the money. I travel all over the world for my job, but my brother has never been out of the country. Is there any way I can get like a gift card for a Caribbean cruise or something like that? Not knowing their schedule I can't just book flights etc. for them. Any suggestions on how to go about it? However, that being said, are you sure your brother and sister-in-law actually want to leave the country and do some traveling? Personally I would LOVE a gift that involved travelling but some people really don't have the desire to do that- which may be part of the reason they didn't take a honeymoon. My desire for travel would ensure that I took a honeymoon somewhere. I would just hate to see you spend that kind of money on them when it might not actually be something they want to do. It might be best to give them the money and let them decide how to use it since its a gift for THEM the gift should be something they want not what you want to give them. Others Alot of the tour companies, Pleasant Hawaiian Holidays comes to mind, allow you to buy a "vacation" that they can plan. I believe American Express does the same through their travel-related services department. If you want to get bang for your buck, you can do the same thing through Costco and Sam's Club. All of these suggestions offer international destinations and bonus amentities. It'll take some research though. Btw, it's a great, thoughtful gift! My own reading...
