What do you think of when you hear Cape Cod? |
Travel Info Im 16 and I live on Cape Cod and i didn't really know that it was so popular, sure a lot of people come here during the summer but i didn't realize it was a place that everyone knew about. I was just wondering what you think of when you hear Cape Cod. Also what are the stereotypes of the people/teens and/or adults that live here. Travel Tips Hi gkv... This is such an unusual question from a girl...no...a lady of age 16, it really is... How could I not reply...! I have lived in other states and you would not believe the variables of interests as well as the lack of knowledge of your Northeast coast. I have even met people that believe New England is on the other side of the ocean...lol (Share my laughter.) For others, you may be a Yank or a Yankee and others may call you a Beantowner (Boston, of course) and that's the extent of what they know other than news of the Kennedy bunch on the island when the high and the mighty are facing another tradgety or scandal...lol For those that visit the Cape and further North towards Plymouth, they always return because the fun, the beauty, the adventure and the culture are like no other place in the USA. Where else on earth can you find a Dunkin Donuts on every street corner...? Where else can you go and find so many huge huge homes with just two or three people living inside and they are not the mainstream wealthy variety...? Where else can you go into a lounge type restaurant and find a huge cake of cheddar cheese on a table for customers to cut from at no extra charge...? ...and, soooo much more...! Were it a trip to the dunes to view the paintings of the starving artists on roadsides, a ferry across to the Vinyard, a tour of Hyanis, or the restaurants of Neponset, all whom travel there once, will return again some day, be sure of that... The offshore cruises are nice but also very costly and the ferry to the Vinyard is almost two hundred dollars...OUCH...! I guess I will pass on the Kennedy bunch afterall...! You have a beautiful state and area, gkv, and don't let anyone ever tell you differently. Your people speak from their heart and not from their mouths...and...
