In New York City, or any other busy and complicated Cities, do you have problems reading the road sign from certain distance?

Today I drove to New York City and when I stopped at a stopped light, I was looking for road signs to see what route I needed to go on. The road sign was allll the wayyyy to the next side of the road, and the road sign was so small. I can not see the damn sign, so I had to go through the intersection before I could see the road sign, which was already too late.

Buy a GPS.

I've had similar difficulty in Denver as well.
