Is it safe for a single female to go camping alone? |
Travel Info I used to go camping alot when I was younger with family or friends who've since moved away etc. I was wondering is it ok to go out camping alone? I would go to a campground, that has a ranger and make sure there are people around me( not to close). I'm 37, and pretty independent, also know how to take care of myself. Just wondered if anyone has any thought's on this? Travel Tips I've been involved in Boy Scouts since my brother was younger, and I've been in Scouts myself for a few years, and I have learned that it's never safe for anyone to go camping alone. It has nothing to do with how many people are around you or if you talk to a ranger; if something happens to you, there will be no one to get help. As a girl, and a Scout, I'm pretty independent when I camp and I know all my stuff, but I would never camp alone. My suggestion is to bring another girl along with you, or guy if you prefer, but definitely implement the buddy system and cover all your bases. Others no!!! need my number?? Well, considering there a people near by and you are an independant 37 year old I think you should be fine. But, you could always bring a friend too. myself no...take some friends wid ya its gonna be more fun n safer ...:D I would at least bring one friend. A campground has alot of places to hid someone. In this horrible world it is not safe to go camping alone. If you do decide to go camping alone, just be careful and aware of your surroundings. Have you lost your mind? |
