Is it safe to travel to London?

I asked this question a few days ago but I didn't get any real answers. With all the recent happenings in the UK, is it safe for Americans to travel to England? Also, what about Germany?

I once lived in Indonesia, and worked in Egypt... the rule of tumb is: when there are recent happenings, it is the safest time to visit that country - cause the whole police department and agents are on the move, and very alert!

You could just as well ask if it is safe to drive to the grocery store...you are more likely to be involved in an auto accident within 2 miles of your own house than in a terrorist attack. These events are horrid and totally unpredictable. If you asked if it was safe to go to Iraq or Iran, the answer would be a definite NO, but I don't believe London is any more dangerous than any other city. And Germany...how is Germany any more dngerous than the United States?
