Is there a name for Antartica besides 'Antartica'? |
Travel Info Like, is their acountry in Antartica? Because apparently Australia is the only continent that a country is also named after. I'm not sure if this is making sense or not =\ Travel Tips Antarctica is a continent but not a country. Go to the following Wikipedia link for more info: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/antarctica... Others antartica is not a country and it is also called the south pole. Antarctica is a Continent not a country, it is owned by a number of different countries, there is the Australian anartic territory, the Chilean Antarctic territory. so it is like the Continent being America and on that Continent there is the USA, Canada, Mexico |
