Is there a travel search engine where I do not have to pick the dates that I want to travel?

Travel Info
I just want to pick the departure and arrival airports and the hotel. And then find out when it would be the cheapest dates to go.

Travel Tips
Yes, there is a wonderful site called www.farecast.com.

Not only can you see when and where the cheapest places to go, the site also predicts fares in the future. It is really awesome ,check it out.
I have used it several times when I needed to travel from NYC to LA and was unsure of which airport to fly into and what days were less expensive.

Unfortunately, no. Airlines price their tickets according to when the busy seasons are in the areas they travel to. If you don't pick a date, then it can't give you an appropriate price. Figure out when you want to go,and then put the dates in. You can try using several different dates and see which give you the best prices,or you can talk to a travel agent and they can tell you when the cheaper seasons are. Good luck.
I totally sympathize with your problem. Unfortunately, no. Airline costs generally depend on the time of year and the days of the week you fly. For example, school vacation weeks often see very high prices. A flight on a Sunday is often very high wheras flights on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays are often cheaper.

Try to look on weeks that do not fall around huge holidays, school vacations, or weekends. Also, think about seasonal travel. Florida is less expensive in the summer because it's so hot but in the winter it's more expensive because everyone wants to go be in the sun.

For example, I live in Massachusetts and went to visit my grandparents in Florida last June. My flight to Florida was about $170 on JetBlue because it was a BIG travel week but my flight home was only $39 because why would you want to be in Massachusetts on a big summer vacation week?

Also, consider times. The later/earlier you fly or the more connections you make, the cheaper the costs.
u can get cheaper rates during non-holiday seasons
