Top countries in the world to live?

I've read some lists by the UN and such, but they confuse me and I would really like some personal testimonies. Of the places you live/have lived, which do you like most and why?

I have lived in many countries (born in the USA) and here are my favorite places as of right now:

Slovenia -- clean, lots of open, accessible natural land, friendly people, nice pace of life. Mountains for hiking and skiing, sea for swimming.

Paris, France -- my favorite large city. It has everything, including night life, a diverse population, great tolerance for life styles and religions, lots of parks and green space.

West coast of Wales -- beaches that most of the world doesn't even realize are there. Beautiful, but you have to like the weather. People are laid back, friendly, and very casual.

Cesky Krumlov, Czech Republic -- this is the story-book town where "Hostel" was filmed. The movie aside, the town is like a fairy tale, the people are nice, the prices are LOW. You can tube, canoe or kayak on the river that runs through town.

Zagreb, Croatia -- and all of the Istrian penninsula. Cafes, love of the out-of-doors, people with a good sense of humor, lovely mountain towns and a GREAT coastline for swimming and island hopping.

Great People in these cities, really happy to make you happy. Smiles bring smiles. Great liquor, beer, food is delightful and new. So many picturesque places. Easy life if you wish to settle from Western Europe or the States.

Lots of tourists go to these cities, and just leave after their stay, so if you want to make your time worthwhile, pick up on the customs and especially language, in Hungary they are extremely proud of their language and culture.

I love the United States. You have the freedom to do what you want and there is a melting pot of many different cultures and people. There is a little of everyone and everything in the good old USA.
