How's Gotland's nightlife?

I'm interested in the island of Gotland, Sweden. I'd like to go there with three of my friends in late July, but I'm not really sure about its nightlife: I wouldn't like to be in a place in which I can just admire nature and medieval builings... As I'm 21, I'd like to have some fun there (discos, bars, parties,...). Can you help me? Ah, by the way...is it possible to swim in the sea there, in that period?

In July, Gotland is pretty hectic with all the tourists. At that time of the year there is plenty of nightlife, and plenty of young people - especially in Visby. About 60.000 people are living permanently in Gotland, but during summer there are about 1.000.000 people staying there - and July is the most popular month. There are lots of bars, discos and restaurants in Visby, as well as festivals of all kind. It's a marvellous, beautiful, romantic, spectacular city. And oh yes, it's possible to swim in the sea. There are wonderful beaches, and Gotland has Sweden's sunshine record! Just make sure that they are safe. All the touristy sand beaches are, of course,perfectly safe, but there are also one or two desert rock beaches where the currents are extremely dangerous.
