As anyone travel by car, I repeat, by car, not by air, from the u.s.a. to Canada this year with young children |
Travel Info I have two young children ages 7 and 9 do I need any documentation to enter into Canada and back to the U.S.A. I know you need a passport by air but what about by Car? As anyone traveled with children going in and out of Canada this year?? Thanks Travel Tips You can still enter Canada by land with birth certificate and ID (such as drivers license) for adults and birth certificates for children. If both parents are not travelling with the kids, you need written permission from the other parent. See the CBSA page below. Returning is similar except they don't worry about one parent bringing US kids back into the US. Source(s): Canadian CBSA gov't visitor information: http://www.cbsa-asfc.gc.ca/e/pub/cp/rc41... Other Travel Tips Passports are not needed for ground travel until January 1, 2008. For children under 16 you need a certified copy of their birth certificate (i.e. one you get from the jurisdiction in which they were born.)
