Vacation question...? |
Travel Info Where would be a great place to take a family vacation this summer...family of 4...kids are 9,7, and 10 myhs old. We never get out of Texas...so out of state would be nice. Travel Tips Well, I live in Florida so I am partial to Here! Of course there are the obvious- and expensive- Disney and Universal Studios. But there are other places here that have alot of fun things to do. Like St. Augustine. Which has a ton of very inexpensive things to do. Orlando, which has much more stuff than just theme parks, or has cheaper theme parks like Wet-N-Wild and Bush Gardens. Or Tampa which has the best Aquarium outside of Atlanta. So, my vote is go Florida, stay close to a beach and that alone could be a vacation. Other Travel Tips I went on a road trip once that took me through the national parks in Utah and to the Grand Canyon and around Northern Arizona, its a beautiful area but it might be boring for kids Atlantis in the bahamas is great for the kids and adults. I also find that new zealand is perfect for an active family. want to go on a cheaper buget- St.John all inclusives are great or the jersey shoreis always a family fav No budget- VIrgin flight to space. its about a million dollars but a thing youll never forget. past travels Kentucky would love to have you and your family visit. We have a wonderful horse park in Lexington, national forests, and camping and hiking opportunities in places such as Cumberland Gap where you can find a waterfall and the only moonbow in the Western Hemisphere. You can tour the largest underground cave system in the world at Mammoth Cave in Cave City and, while you're there, visit Kentucky Down Under, which has animals native to Australia. You can still catch a horse race during the spring season at Churchill Downs, home of the Kentucky Derby, the most prestigious horse race in the world. If you're interested in history, you can visit Abraham Lincoln's birthplace in Hodgenville or historic Fort Boonesborough or see prehistoric fossils recovered from the falls of the Ohio River park just across the river in Southern Indiana or see the remains of Mastodons that were attracted to the salt springs that still bubble from the earth at the Big Bone Lick state park in Union, Kentucky. You can visit My Old Kentucky Home state park in Bardstown that inspired Stephen Foster's famous song (now our state song) or wander through the nature preserve at Bernheim Forest in Bardstown. There are a number of lakes with boating, fishing, and other recreational activities available in southern and western Kentucky, like Rough River and Lake Between the Lakes. You can visit the Underground Railroad Museum in Maysville or the JB Speed Art Museum, the Louisville Slugger Museum, the Muhammed Ali Museum, or the Frasier Historical Arms Museum in Louisville. Louisville also has a very nice zoo and a Six Flags amusement park for the kids, and Newport, Kentucky, has a lovely aquarium. If your kids are athletic and into skateboarding, you can visit the extreme skatepark in Louisville or hike through several parks in the city designed by Olmsted. There are also a number of concerts and ethnic festivals (free) through the summer. And most everything is priced within the confines of a family budget. So visit the bluegrass state and learn why Kentucky is known for horses, history, and hospitality. Disney world in florida will cost u $1000 plus room n meals Oklahoma city has several muescems and childrens theme adventures, not very expensive. There is always branson, plenty for everyone to see and do, go carts, boat rides, exciting shows, if you don't mind sitting thru a presentation or two you could get free or cheap tickets and accomodations, silver dollar city in branson is fun for the whole family |
