Travel Info In august my daughter who will be 22 months has to go and spend a week to my mum because of childcare arrangement.I live in london and my mum in france. My mum is coming to pick her up here but what I would like to know is this: My daughter got her own passport but doesn't have my mother name.So the police when she catches the train might ask a few questions. does anyone know if the is a form to fill in or summat in order that everything runs smoothly for both? Travel Tips my kids passports have their fathers surname and my passport is still in my maiden name because we just got married not long ago. when we go away with different names on passport no one bats an eyelid. just back last weekend actually and they just look at the passport and wave you on. it doesn't make any difference, once they have passports they can travel. might be no harm to have the birth certs, but i doubt there will be any questions. then again, most abductions are by people who are known to child and birth certs are NOT a proof of identity anyway. i don't foresee any problems, all children have their own passport now, and they couldn't ALL be travelling with only their parents. Others just keep yr mouth shut, everything will be ok give ur mom a copy of ur daughter's birth certificate along with ur birth certificate usually in the birth certificate the name of both parents are written down :) You need to provide a certified letter to your mother detailing that you are the legal parent and that your mother has permission to travel with her. Look on the website for the passports and it will give details of traveling with a child. Check at your local post office they will put you right . |
