Travel Tips
If you are young (you don't say how old you are), that is under 18, you should definitely tell your Mom about it. If anything happens when you are on the road, you will need help from her. Indeed if you are a young adult, older than 18, it would be a good idea also.

I take it she might be upset about a multi-day trip with your BF. Or is there a concern about you visiting your Dad. I know with split families, you sometimes have a lot of tension that way. But you should be able to have a way to introduce your bf an dyour dad.

If you are young, then your parents should both know where you are. Especially if you are crossing state borders with your father. Depending on the states one or the other parent could actually charge your bf with a crime, especially if you are underage and he is older. That would really ruin his life - believe me. So you don't want to sneak around on this.

As to logistics, you usually have to be 25 to rent a car but 21 is really rock bottom - and given the issues I mentioned above, flying might be much better, and frankly, it might be much cheaper. They charge a lot of money to rent cars to younger people. And with low fare airlines, and the cost of gas, flying is faster, safer, and cheaper.

You should expect that the trip will take at least 4 days each way if you drive.

Talk to your mom. If she is caring, she can help you figure out how to save the $$$

i would tell my mom, just because if i was going out of town...i would tell her.

flying would be faster, and in some cases it would be cheaper.

i think you can be 21 to rent a car in some states, but i think the rates go down for it if you are 24/25. some rental car places only let you take the car one state over, but i know with budget you can drive it anywhere in the 48 states.

have a safe trip!
u might want to tell your mom about it i would

yea it might be better to fly because u save time cause if u drive you will be for like 3 days

and you have to be 21 to rent a car

to save money get another job idk
Yes, tell your mom -you always, always let your parents know so they will not worry and leave them an timetable for going and returning in-case of an emergency; and that's letting them know you are taking responsibility and acting as an adult should. SAVING MONEY - if you are trying to save cut back on buying items not needed to function with in your daily life (needs only - not wants) and cook instead of eating out.

i assume your parents are split apart? In this case at least one or the other needs to know your plans so they know if your alright or not. I personally prefer flying, with gas prices high, flying and driving can be closely comparable if you are flexible. Also I always figure my time and exhaustion of driving, food stops, hotel, etc. If your parents are separated you do not need to tell your mother if you think this would cause more problems than you want to deal with. My parents had an ugly divorce I know how that is. you don't want to hide it from her but you do not have to bring it up as long as your at age of consent. you will make better forward ground in your life if your open an honest with both parents though.
