on a cross country trip, a cheap motel in Texas tired after all day driving. and the sheets didn't seem clean, the place reeked of smoke and it was old and yucky...beds hard and squeaky...

November, 1982, Hurricane Iwa in Hawaii destroyed our hotel and vacation. It was the worse hurricane to hit Hawaii in many years and it was a direct hit where we stayed.

Then in August of 1992, we were in Florida and another Hurricane came to visit, this one named Andrew.

Mother Nature can deliver a wakeup call for travelers no matter where they may roam.
